Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway - Departing Haverthwaite A 25 minute drive from the hotel (or 10 minute walk from Bowness pier) you will find yourself in the town of Windermere which is renowned for it's quaint shops and café's and attracts over a million visitors every year.

Visit Cumbria - Lake Windermere

Approximately 5 minutes drive from Hampsfell you also have the charming village of Cartmel. Famous for it's sticky toffee pudding and craft shops, Cartmel also offers a selection of pubs and café's. The two things cartmel is really famous for though is it's 12th century priory and of course, racing.

The priory was built in 1120 and boasts breathtaking architecture, and is steeped in history. Visitors are welcome all year round.

Cartmel Races Cartmel Races happens several times a year and attracts thousands upon thousands of people both nationally and locally.
